Welcome to the home page of the Computer Vision and Deep Learning course!
Description
In this course, the basics of Computer Vision and Deep Learning are covered. Starting in the week from 2nd to 8th of October and finishing in the week from 4th to 10th of December, in each week there will be a lecture video uploaded to this page. In addition, there will be five recorded live sessions, where we discuss the contents of the lectures. The dates for these live sessions are:
- Thursday, 5.10.2023, 18:00 to 19:00.
- Thursday, 19.10.2023, 18:00 to 19:30.
- Thursday, 9.11.2023, 18:00 to 20:00.
- Friday, 24.11.2023, 18:00 to 19:30.
- Tuesday, 5.12.2023, 18:00 to 19:00.
Furthermore, we will have one more live session for your projects and organization:
- Tuesday, 16.1.2024, 18:00 to 19:00
For the live sessions we use this Zoom meeting.
Besides lecture videos and discussions, there will be additional material for self-study, and, later in the semester, there will be some exercises aiming to deepen the understanding of the introduced topics, which are not graded, but discussed in the live sessions.
Grading
The grading of the course is based both on a course project, weighted with 70%, and an online exam or a personal written report, weighted with 30%. The dates will be:
- Monday, 11.3.2024, 18:00 to 19:00, for the online exam if chosen
- Tuesday, 12.3.2024, 18:00, for the final project presentations (20 min presentation + questions)
- Wednesday, 20.3.2024, 23:59, for submission of the individual course report if chosen

After the presentation on Tuesday, 12.3.2023, please submit your presentation slides and project report for grading. The deadline for submission is Wednesday, 20.3.2024, 23:59.
As an alternative to participating in the online test, you can submit a personal written report summarizing what you have learnt in the lectures until Wednesday, 20.3.2024, 23:59.
